Vikings - Saints Recap / Seahawks Preview
The Minnesota Vikings played their first preseason game of the season on Friday,
defeating the New Orleans Saints 34-25. Overall, it was a very solid showing for the
Vikings. The offensive starters played just one series, but it was a successful drive that went 81 yards and ended in a touchdown. Kirk Cousins looked flawless and comfortable behind an improved offensive line that held their own. Cousins was 4 for 4 for 65 yards, which included a nice scramble for a first down and a 34-yard strike to TSE Exclusive receiver Adam Thielen. The drive ended with a 1-yard touchdown pass from Cousins to other new TSE Exclusive athlete Alexander Mattison. The Vikings defense played well also, sacking old ally Teddy Bridgewater twice.
The Vikings play their second preseason game on Sunday against the Seattle
Seahawks at US Bank Stadium. They look to build off a strong showing and continue to develop chemistry on both sides of the ball. It will be interesting to see how the different positional battles play out and how the depth chart comes together in the next few weeks.
